Instructor or Professional-in-Residence (Multiple Positions)

The Division of Computer Science and Engineering within the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Louisiana State University (LSU) - Baton Rouge invites applications for multiple teaching faculty positions starting August 2024 or earlier. Successful candidates will hold the title of Instructor or Professional In-Residence depending on their qualifications. The division is experiencing an all-time high enrollment in its undergraduate program, and we expect continued growth for the foreseeable future. It offers multiple concentration options, including software engineering, cybersecurity, cloud computing and networking, and data science and analytics at the undergraduate level (BS degree). The candidates who are interested in teaching undergraduate courses in any area of computer science will be considered. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
The position will be 100% teaching. Teach undergraduate computer science courses in core and specialization areas to support the four concentrations mentioned above; engage students in project and independent study courses; and serve on committees related to undergraduate matter. Design and development of online courses in the areas of programming, data structures and algorithm, and systems with the support and resources provided by LSU online. Emphasis will be placed on a candidate's ability to engage students in and out of the classroom.
Required Qualifications:
Instructor - The applicant will possess MS or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline and will have a strong commitment to teaching.
Professional-in-Residence - The applicant will possess an MS in Computer Science or a closely related discipline and will have a strong commitment to teaching with eight or more years of industrial work experience.
Degree Substitute: PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
Salary and job title are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
