ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Instructor of Criminal Justice

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Summary: Instructor of Criminal Justice, a full-time faculty member of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department, teaches 12 credit hours per semester (normally four assigned courses). Courses will be taught via a combination of in-person, hybrid, and distance delivery modalities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
Teach core and elective undergraduate Criminal Justice courses, which may include the following: CRMJ 110 Orientation to Criminal Justice Inquiry, CRMJ 201 Introduction to Criminal Justice, CRMJ 302 Ethics in Criminal Justice, courses in either policing, courts, corrections, and/or upper division courses in the successful candidate's specialty area.  Potential to teach graduate courses depending on qualifications.

Required Qualifications: 
Master's degree or in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Public Administration, or related field. 
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate-level Criminal Justice courses.
Experience with basic classroom technology.

Preferred Qualifications: 
Experience teaching undergraduate-level Criminal Justice courses. 
Experience teaching graduate-level Criminal Justice courses.
Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Public Administration, or related field. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or ABD will also be considered.
Experience teaching through various modalities (in person, hybrid, online).
Candidates with a background in a specialty area which compliments the current needs of the Criminal Justice program will be given preference.
Experience with learning management systems, video conferencing software, and Microsoft Office Programs.
