The successful candidate will provide students with a strong foundation in Mathematics paired with exceptional teaching skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate the most effective teaching and learning research in lesson planning and content delivery. This candidate will demonstrate collegiality, flexibility, and leadership within the department, school and college. Under direct supervision of the Associate Dean, the primary responsibility is providing instruction to students enrolled in a variety of Math courses. Classes may include (but are not limited to): College Mathematics, Math w Business Applications, Introductory Statistics, College Algebra, Math & Logic, and Academic Support Instruction in the Math Center.
- Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.
- Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.
- Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.
- Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.
- Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate as a productive member of a team, including working in the Math Center.
- Maintain college learning resources and equipment.
- Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
- Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.
- At least two years of post-secondary teaching experience required at the lead instructor (not TA work).
- Post-secondary experience in designing, planning and implementing alternative delivery formats (internet, accelerated, hybrid) and using CANVAS or similar learning management system.
- Teaching experience, work experience or experience developing curriculum in the area of international or diversity studies desirable.
- One of the following minimums required:
- A Master’s degree in Mathematics
- A Master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate credits in Mathematics.
- A Master’s degree in a related field with 12 graduate credits in Mathematics plus years of tested experience.
