Position Summary:
The Florida Atlantic University's Department of Theatre and Dance seeks a twelve-month instructor in Stage Management with a solid commitment to training BFA and MFA students in a growing program in the active Southeast Florida theatre community.
FAU is centrally located in the South Florida region in a vibrant and active theatre and film community. The department produces seven annual shows in the academic unit and two through the Summer Repertory Theatre Program. It offers substantial professional opportunities to faculty and students working closely with the resident professional theatre company partner on campus, Theater LAB.
The theatre department offers seven majors and two minors in Design and Technology, Performance, and Musical Theatre at the B.A., B.F.A., and M.F.A. levels. The department produces our productions through our four theatre spaces on campus, including a newly renovated 500-seat proscenium theatre, our 150-seat black box theatre, and two smaller 80-seat black box theatres.

This position will provide instruction for the Stage Management course sequence, participate in weekly design & production meetings and annual student portfolio reviews, and mentor Stage Management students throughout the production process. Additional duties include academic advisement for Bachelor of Arts majors each semester and developing a Master of Fine Arts program in Stage Management. This position also develops and maintains the production calendar for the department.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Demonstrated successful experience in Stage Management with professional experience or experience teaching at the university level.
• An MFA degree from an accredited institution in theatre by the starting date of the appointment or significant professional experience commensurate with a terminal degree
