Job Summary
The Instructional Designer I collaborates with faculty and instructors to deliver instructional design services aligned with strategic academic goals, institutional policies and program requirements.

Job Responsibilities and Execution

• Evaluates, selects, implements and maintains new tools and methodologies to support online teaching and learning
• Collaborates and consults with faculty and subject matter experts to design online courses
• Applies design standards, instruments and processes
• Researches open educational resources
• Verifies alignment of intended outcomes, learning activities and assessments
• Provides a range of training and support services
• Schedules course design consultations to align with term start dates
• Maintains Lindenwood's course rigor and design standards
• Achieves annual, measurable individual improvement goals of acquiring or refining skills and/or obtaining increased knowledge in job-related areas
• Assists faculty and instructors in applying models, methodologies or technologies appropriate to course or program content, context and format
• Seeks opportunities to exchange and integrate innovative ideas

• Supports the mission of the university and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence

Required Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, curriculum development, teaching and learning or related field
• Instructional design certification
• Master's degree preferred

Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of this job's functions.

• General office/educational setting, including computer labs, classrooms and related support facilities at system-wide campuses and extension sites
• Online academic environment
• Occasional night and weekend work may be required to support the diverse teaching schedules of faculty and instructors
