Partner with Business Leaders, Subject Matter Experts and the Training Team to identify performance and learning needs. Design and develop tools and resources, such as eLearnings, training programs, and performance support documents to support the University. Maintain electronic resources and staff-facing Performance Support Site. Evaluate the effectiveness of resources and determine additional training interventions if necessary.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Analysis: Conduct performance needs analysis; job, skill and task analyses. Identify holistic performance solutions (courseware, tools, performance support job aids, etc.)
Design: Apply instructional design methodologies to develop clear and measurable learning objectives, appropriate learning strategies, creative instructional techniques and course evaluation outcomes
Development: Develop instructor led and online courseware according to industry standards
Project Management: Manage all aspects of multiple projects simultaneously, including scope, budgets, communication, schedule, and where appropriate, vendor(s)/consultant(s)
Relationship Management: Ability to leverage Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to gather, understand and organize content, as well as understand and incorporate their feedback into the learning solution
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies
Experience in designing and developing learning solutions in multiple delivery methods:
Instructor Led Training and Virtual Led Training
Web-based Training and Simulations
Job Aids and Quick Reference Cards
Employee Performance Support solutions
Proficiency in authoring software, eLearning standards, and development tools (e.g., Storyline, Captivate, WebEx Training, etc.).
Knowledge of Web Development using HTML, CSS3, Java Script, & JQuery
Knowledge of Sharepoint and Sharepoint Designer
Knowledge and application of the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement & Evaluate) process
Knowledge of Adobe Products (Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)
Excellent Communication, writing, and editing skills along with strong presentation skills
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required, (Masters preferred) in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Organization Development, Training, Human Resources or related discipline from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Instructional Design, including: needs assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation
Course design and development including interactive activities, job aids, and competency based evaluations for Instructor led and online training
Developing storyboards, scripts, measurement, and assessment tools
Translating written content into visual descriptions (graphics, animations, interactive charts and graphs, video-based scenarios)
Experience in multiple development environments
Program management experience
Familiarity with organization development, training and adult learning methodologies
