SUMMARY
The Instructional Aide will assist the teacher with instructional tasks and relieve the teacher of clerical and other duties in related to program. All specific duties cannot be listed and responsibilities will change accordingly as the need arises. The Instructional Aide must maintain an attitude of cooperation with all employees, members and guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES
Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with adults and children.
- Perform routine clerical work.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Work with individual and small groups of children.
- Maintain acceptable standards of behavior among students at all times.
- Plan and organize to meet fixed schedules.
- Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work.
- Maintains clean and organized work environment.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- 12 units of Early Childhood Development
- First Aide Certification
EXPERIENCE
- 6 months to 1 year experience working with children in a group atmosphere.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to take delegation of work assignments and to follow direction and works well with others.
- Provide superior customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure conditions.
- Meet the general needs and behaviors of the Indian children served.
- Use correct English, grammar, spelling, punctuations and basic mathematics.
- The operation of standard office equipment
- Basic safety rules, habits and principles of first aid
- Physical stamina is necessary for dealing with children and may require standing for several hours at a time.
REQUIRED
- Early Child Development Permit
- T.B. Test Results
- Life Scan Clearance
- A current California Drivers License or California Identification
