Inside Sales/Customer Service Representative

Position Summary: As a member of the Customized Supply Solutions team, works directly with customers, vendors and Company personnel to provide products and services that meet and exceed customer requirements and Company expectations in accordance with standard operating procedures and Company guidelines

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working in a professional and timely manner with customers, vendors and sales/marketing personnel to establish and maintain good relations.
  • Provides prompt, courteous responses to requests for services and resolutions of issues
  • Responsible for order entry, which may include spot buys and/or Kanban orders
  • Responsible for status inquiries, including customer expediting and data entry into the computer
  • Helps to identify and resolve issues as they relate to other departments
  • Responsible for completing credits and returns in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide written communication to purchasing personnel on all required information, including but not limited to, new items, new vendors, and item changes, for up-to-date item maintenance
  • Responsible for the completion of all required Company forms and paperwork
  • May be responsible for assisting in special projects that arise
  • Responsible for understanding, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system
  • Responsible for understanding and striving to meet quality goals and objectives
  • Responsible for the timely close out of internal audit findings
  • Responsible for documenting customer complaints and implementing corrective and preventative action where necessary

 

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A degree in distribution and/or equivalent sales experience within the distribution field is preferred but not required
  • Must be able communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with customers, suppliers, business associates, and Company personnel.
  • Must be able to handle multi-tasks
  • Excellent organizational skill with attention to detail and a high focus on accuracy
  • Good problem-solving capabilities
  • Must be able to work independently, in a team driven environment
  • Must be customer service focused and demonstrate a professional demeanor at all times
  • Must have an overall computer proficiency and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must pass all drug and security screenings to obtain clearance and badging privileges to enter customer’s facilities.
  • Must work safely while in the customer’s facility and must follow all customer rules and regulations, including no photography within the plant, and following the strict rules regarding confidentiality and security.
  • Must stay current on all training requirements
