Job description

Lasko Products, an industry leader of home environment products for over 100 years, is looking to add Injection Molding Technicians to the team in our Franklin, TN manufacturing facility.

We are hiring for both 2nd and 3rd shift.

The Injection Molding Technician will perform duties to set-up and cycle a variety of Plastic Injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment and make process adjustments to ensure proper function and quality parts.

Essential Functions

  1. Set-up, start-up, troubleshoots, and monitors injection molding machines and related equipment to ensure production
  2. Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects
  3. Make machine adjustments, injection pressure, and cycle times for wide range of plastic materials to ensure proper quality and function of parts
  4. Ensure part/material containment measures are implemented
  5. Troubleshoot molding problems
  6. Notify maintenance of any issues with any equipment; mold repair department and supervisor of any mold issues
  7. Watch production monitoring software for machines stopping, cycles not to standards, color changes and mold changes
  8. Conduct Root Cause Analysis of factors affecting overall product quality
  9. Enter all scrap into the production monitoring system; weigh and document all purging before disposing
  10. Communicate part quality issues, process issues, safety issues and resolutions to next shift
  11. Occasionally responsible for leading department in the absence of the shift supervisor
  12. Run scrap,down time reports, from monitoring system and communicate large scrap numbers and major downtime codes
  13. Use personal computer, dial/digital calipers, gauges, and hand tools
  14. Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition


Required Education and Experience

  1. High School or equivalent. Technical education/background and Associate's Degree preferred
  2. Ideally 3-5 years' Injection Technician experience
  3. Team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization
  4. Experience with robotics systems with ability to set-up, troubleshoot and start-up injection molding equipment
  5. Familiarity with various types of plastic material and knowledge of Milacron injection molding equipment ranging up to 1000 ton capacity is also required.
