Duration: 12+ months
Compensation: up tp $65/hr
Project Management:
  • Run the IT project stream and develop the project schedule and critical paths, including procurement and delivery timelines and provide reporting.
  • Tracking of issues and points of attention including weekly tasks and deliverables.
  • Attend project and vendor / construction meetings.
  • Run IT and Facilities weekly meetings and join key stakeholder meetings.
  • 3rd party vendor management.
  • Joining weekly.
Engineering and Design:
  • Coordinate requirements for IT equipment spaces design, including but not limited to rack layout and design, server racks selection, telecom rack design, structured cabling routes, port counts and designs based on company IT requirements and standards.
  • Work with the appointed design and project management teams to review layout plans for the premises, furniture, electrical, physical security systems, as required to consider IT requirements and standards.
  • Work with appropriate teams for: network design including timelines for equipment procurement and data line orders; security system design; A/V systems design as well as telecom team and external PBX vendor for the telephone design and procurement including system selection, carrier comparison, redundancy.
  • Work with Desktop (pc's phones etc) teams to validate desktop hardware setup at the company locations along with any Desktop cabling requirements and Cabling infrastructure teams and appointed cabling vendor for infrastructure design.
  • Work with Facilities and Tech teams to Prepare drawings for cable routes, port locations. Also prepare detailed drawing for Comms Room including power and space requirements for all systems. Prepare rack elevations.
  • Coordinate with appointed furniture and construction vendors to specify cabling, power, and space requirements for company IT for user areas.
  • Provide cabling patch schedules as per company IT requirements (implementation by others).
  • Document all final agreed designs with company SME's.
Tender Management:
  • For IT cabling and Communications Room infrastructure, provide tender management services including:
  • Prepare and issue approved RFP documents to prequalified contractors, and vendors.
  • Receive, review, and qualify proposals.
  • Make adjustments for comparison purposes and liaise with bidders, as needed.
  • Prepare final recommendations.
  • Negotiate contractor/vendor contracts and timing.
Implementation:
  • Coordinate installation of external data/voice circuits and vendor hardware installs.
  • Manage procurement and new installation of any lines related to the LAN, WAN, server, PBX, data lines, voice line, leased lines.
  • Work with client and coordinate the procurement and installation of Networking systems, desktop IT, AV, cabling infrastructure and installations of physical security systems including door access control and cameras.
  • Work with client to coordinate desktop relocation and new desktop setups.
  • Work and coordinate with the appointed facilities vendors for Furniture, UPS, and security to ensure IT requirements are defined and installed.
  • Provide construction administration for cabling infrastructure, Communications Room, and power installation as it pertains to IT systems to ensure infrastructure and power are installed as per IT specifications and required timing.
  • Coordinate thorough testing of all IT equipment using a defined test methodology and document results.
Equipment Relocation Coordination and Management:
  • Coordinate on behalf of company and provide consultation services to company in relation to Office IT systems relocation management and strategy.
  • Cable patching and service migration services as well as IT desktop relocation vendors.
  • Full testing and certification of system operation.
Project Closeout:
  • Coordinate and manage the following tasks and deliverables.
  • Ensure rectifications of defects are completed before system handover.
  • Gather and provide issue completion certificates as well as provide full system documentation including test results and product manuals.
  • Training for systems administrators and users on any changes in the IT systems resulting from the move.
  • Any other post-relocation support as required by company.
  • Obtain company sign-off on IT aspects of the project.
