The role of Information/Cyber Security Administrator will have the responsibility to effectively design, implement and administer Mazuma's security program. The Information/Cyber Security Administrator will work closely with Mazuma's CISO, Technology team, Risk and Compliance Team, and all other key business unit leaders to ensure compliance with industry and internal IT security policies best practices. This role is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key vendor partners as it pertains to his or her areas of responsibility. There will be interaction with personnel at all levels within the Credit Union requiring the ability to build trusted relationships. The Information/Cyber Security Administrator must be process focused, goal oriented, self-disciplined, and highly motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks as needed. Providing an exceptional experience for Members and Team Members is essential.

This position does offer a hybrid schedule. This is not a remote position. You must live in the Kansas City area. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities of the Information/Cyber Security Administrator:

Technology Security Administration

• Deploy, manage, support, and maintain all primary security solutions in Mazuma's security technology environment including but not limited to firewalls, networks, Internet and telecommunication systems, intrusion detection systems, Internet and email security, and endpoint protection.
• Administer and maintain domain user accounts, permissions, and access privileges.
• Maintain system lifecycle processes from identification of new systems, maintenance of software, updates, and patches and decommissioning.
• Work closely with Mazuma's Technology and Risk and Compliance teams to plan, design, and implement the organization's Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan. Complete annual DR testing activities.
• Coordinate security projects, audits, and reviews. Act as primary contact with 3rd party vendors as necessary.
• Create and maintain IT security documentation, operational procedures, and diagrams.
• Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors. Hold vendor partners accountable for contracted services.
• Ensure Mazuma's security infrastructure is designed, deployed, and managed to optimize DR/BC readiness.

IT Security Analysis

• Work closely with CISO and Enterprise Architect in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture, processes, and procedures. Maintain current security environment documentation.
• Design and implement security solutions to maintain compliance with existing, new, or changing regulations and auditing requirements.
• Monitor server, firewall, threat intelligence and intrusion detection logs, and execute proactive measures as necessary. Continually evaluate network, web, and email for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and lead efforts to respond proactively and reactively to identified threats.
• Assess needs for security solutions to ensure Mazuma's technology environment is hardened against existing and emerging threats and execute them if required. Maintain current knowledge of security solutions and best practices.
• Maintain current, detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes, and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
• Design, perform, and/or oversee penetration testing of all systems to identify system vulnerabilities. Complete any required remediation identified through internal risk assessments, penetration testing or other discovery efforts.
• Monitor data from all security solution sources and report on applicable key performance indicators.

Network Administration

• Manage network hardware such as Wi-Fi access points, routers, firewalls, and switches in a multi-location LAN/WAN environment.
• Leverage training and experience to optimize Mazuma's network protocols and routing standards.
• Act as primary lead and contact with key telco solution providers.

Other Duties

• Act as escalation resource for Help Desk as needed
• Consult on enterprise projects and perform security review analysis for internal and 3rd party solutions under review and consideration.
• This position requires availability 24x7x365

To be successful as the Information/Cyber Security Administrator we are looking for someone with:

• 5+ years of work experience in technology security administration role; experience in managing security controls in on-premises and cloud environments; hands on experience with network devices such as hubs, switches, firewalls and routers (Fortinet and Meraki experience desirable); prior work experience within the financial services industry a plus with knowledge of industry specific regulations; incident response experience w/ forensic knowledge preferred
• College degree in the field of computer science or related field preferred or equivalent training and experience. Preferred certifications (one or more): CISSP, CISA, GIAC, CEH, CISM, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, etc. or other security related technical certifications.

Additional Skills:

• Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus systems, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices; in depth knowledge of network and server access controls.
• Augment the help desk / support function
• Consult on enterprise project
