The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) – Division of State Schools is recruiting for an experienced Information Technology Manager. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of State Schools, the Information Technology Manager serves as a liaison between the three State Schools which include the Alanta Area School for the Deaf, Georgia Academy for the Blind, and Georgia School for the Deaf and the GaDOE’s Office of Technology Services. The Information Technology Manager provides effective and efficient procurement, installation, and management of all technology related software and hardware used to support the students and staff at the three State Schools. The Information Technology Manager also supervises two system analysts and one systems administrator at the schools. Travel will be required. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Description of Duties
- Serve as a liaison between the three State Schools and the GaDOE’s Office of Technology Services
- Provide oversight and management of all technology hardware and software at the three State Schools
- Supervise all internal technology projects for the three State Schools
- Ensure the effective installation of computers for students and staff at the three State Schools upgrade of computers for staff, students, and central office employees
- Procure the services of technology vendors following the state’s and GaDOE’s procurement regulations and requirements
- Create and route purchase requests for approval for all technology equipment and software
- Provide direct support to end-users at the State Schools
- Manage the Campus learning platform for the State Schools
- Collaborate with school-level technology committees
- Complete the annual GaDOE Technology Inventory for the State Schools
PreferredQualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
- Work experience managing technology services and supports to schools
- Work experience supervising employees in the field of technology
- Have experience procuring the services of technology vendors by adhering to the state’s procurement regulations and requirements
- Demonstrate experience providing end-user support to staff regarding technology equipment and software
- Have the ability to communicate effectively using American Sign Language (ASL)
- Work experience managing technology projects for schools
**This is a remote/telework position based in Downtown Atlanta. Some statewide travel is required.

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of directly-related supervisory/management experience OR Four years of directly-related supervisory/management experience.
