The Information Technology (IT) Specialist provides value to the practice by managing the enterprise level hardware and software. The position diagnosis and troubleshoots software and hardware problems. The position makes best practice recommendations to practice leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and identify solutions to software, hardware, and network issues
- Assess technology needs and provide recommendations
- Implement and maintain system and networks to provide industry standard backup, recovery, and restoration services
- Maintain relationships with third party vendors (i.e. internet) to troubleshoot and restore service
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including hardware and software for practice equipment (i.e. cameras, computers, etc)
- Set up workstations and orient users
- Install software and related updates, including protective software
- Assess, maintain and monitor equipment and network security
- Perform and manage maintenance and service for all equipment
- Travel office locations to triage immediate issues
- Research new and replacement software and hardware and make recommendations
- Manage the purchase, preparation, and installation of new hardware and software
- Prioritize service requests and responses
- Participate in the practice HIPAA compliance program to ensure best practices are followed
- Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of related experience
- Strong interpersonal customer service skills, including effective listening, clear verbal and written communication, problem solving skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to practice locations
- Prior knowledge of software systems to input and retrieve data
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience in a medical practice or healthcare environment
- Previous experience with AdvancedMD and Nextech
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally in person and via telephone
- Frequent use of computer terminal to read and write
- Frequent bending, reaching, sitting, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, pushing, and pulling
- Lifting up to 50lbs
Additional Details:
- Work location may vary, thus travel to multiple locations is required
- Monday – Friday schedule; there maybe some weekend work for downtime upgrades
