Information System Engineer Iii

As part of the IT Architecture and Engineering team at Mirion, the Information System Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and operationalizing IT services across the enterprise. You will work closely with the team to understand specific requirements and provide top-tier technical expertise to ensure the success of the projects.  This role is ideal for a proactive, problem-solving, and customer-focused individual who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

System Design and Implementation:

• Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement advanced IT solutions, including server infrastructure, virtualization, and networking.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Diagnose and resolve complex tier III technical issues related to systems and network infrastructure, providing timely and effective support to clients.

Security and Compliance:

• Working with the Cyber team, implement security best practices, ensuring systems and networks adhere to industry standards and compliance requirements.

Documentation:

• Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures to facilitate troubleshooting and knowledge sharing with Operations and Services teams.

Technical Leadership:

• Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for junior team members, providing guidance and knowledge transfer.

Project Management:

• Lead and participate in IT projects, managing timelines, budgets, and expectations.

Knowledge, skills & Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or a similar role.
• Proficiency in system and network administration, including Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Experience with cloud services (Azure, M365 and AWS).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Industry certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
