An Information Resource Specialist II is a team member that creates alternative formats of books for K12 students. Organization and attention to detail is a must.
Hourly Payrate: $20
Work involves:
Assist with incoming requests for books and equipment (Example: checking the incoming e-mails in a resource box)
Creating word processing documents typically using a standardized software package such as Word:
- Typically require formatting,
- Use of macros,
- Merging information from different documents/applications. (Example: Merging address information in an Excel Spreadsheet to create mailing labels.)
- Use of Styles and Headings
- Use word processor tools for layout and typesetting.
- Skill in applying basic and advanced tools used in word processing applications.
Maintaining databases typically using a standardized software package such as Access.
Collects and compiles data to prepare reports and provide supporting documentation.
Update, enter, modify, retrieve, and report on data in an established information system's database.

Assist with maintaining library inventory.
Assists with processing library materials and prepares it for distribution.
Serves as a liaison with clients and agency staff to exchange information.
Maintains data and filing systems to ensure effective, accurate and easily retrievable documentation of operations, program and project activities.
Keeps team apprised of issues and accomplishments, follows up and tracks workflow and resolves problems relating to procedures and deadlines.
Knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling and composition.
Knowledge of the methods and techniques in composing written communications:
- Responses to inquiries
- Notification to customers regarding receipt of requests/orders for materials and equipment
- Notification to customers regarding shipment materials and equipment
Use of office equipment (usually repetitive jobs):
- copier machines,
- comb binding/finishing
- scanners (scanning hardcopy into electronic format using a scanner)
- cutters/trimmers
- collators
- printers
