This Information Receptionist position is located in the Office of Veteran Experience & Advocacy, North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NF/SGVHS). The incumbent serves as the first representative of the facility, greeting visitors as they enter and leave the facility and/or clinical areas, directing individuals to the appropriate service or office, and giving and/or clarifying information to help the Veteran or visitor access the appropriate service.Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/20/2023.

General Experience: Examples of general experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
- Use and maintain records within the health care system and websites.
- Obtains information using computer based systems and the Internet to better serve the customers when problems arise.
- Communicate with staff via telephone, email and/or Microsoft Teams.
- Identify problem areas or issues and refer them to the appropriate person or service.
- Provide personal wayfinding assistance and escort patients and visitors to locations when they have difficulties with instructions provided.
- Develops and maintain file of brochures, information handouts, common Q & A materials, transportation schedules, etc.
OR,
Substitution of Education for Experience(TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED): Do you possess 2 years of education above high school?
OR,
Combination of Education and Experience (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED): Do you possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed post high school education and general experience directly related to the work of the Information Receptionist position, which may be substituted to meet the experience requirements for this position?

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The position requires the employee to be on their feet at least 50% to 75% of the time to greet Veterans, family members and other visitors as they arrive and leave the facility as well as cover waiting areas throughout the facility. While some of the work may be at an information desk located near the main entrance of the facility, the majority of the work is intended for the employee to be actively interacting with Veterans and visitors throughout the workday away from the desk.
