Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the work of employees and performs professional journalistic functions in the development, implementation and distribution of informational programs and materials to the public, assists with award programs.
- Perform journalistic research, writing, editing and revising of materials for publications, presentations and products from across the agency. Edit projects submitted to the Communications editing inbox and ensure projects are completed and returned on time.
- Assist Communications staff with recognition programs and events. This includes responding to emails, organizing application materials, and assisting with logistics for judging and awards ceremonies.
- Edit electronic newsletters, as needed, for consistency to KDE style and ensuring content aligns to agency priorities. Serve as back-up trainer for KDE’s electronic delivery system.
- Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and an ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative environment.
