SalaryNashville General Hospital is hiring an Infection Preventionistas a Full-Time job in Nashville, Tennessee.
Shift: Day shift
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating and directing the functions of Infection Control within the hospital; surveillance, investigation, reporting and education. The Infection Preventionist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary provide care appropriate to the age of patients assigned.
As anInfection Preventionist, you will:
- Actively participates in development of Infection Control policies, procedures and initiatives
- Maintains strategies and action plan for isolating, preventing and minimizing the spread of infectious diseases
- Implements and maintains processes consistent with evidence based practices to reduce incidence of healthcare acquired infections
- Collects and analyzes data on the incidence of HAIs and the success or failure of the various prevention strategies
- Serves as liaison/consultant for the hospital, community and other agencies regarding infection control practices/issues
- Develops and implements action plans for individual cases, issues or variant trends
- Effectively manages all reportable infections to TN Department of Health, including PH-1600 form and clinical follow-up of signs and symptoms
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in the healthcare/medical field – clinical nurse specialist experience required
- BLS Required
