PURPOSE
The Industry Sales Director is responsible selling association event exhibit space, advertising, and sponsorship programs to our customers within the
specialty equipment and racing industry as well as represent the Associations full array of benefit programs. Responsible for the execution of existing and new sales programs, processes and procedures. Candidate will help maintain and expand high-level exchange of sales support, sales data, and reporting. Candidate will work cross departmentally to ensure consistent flow of information essential to success of exhibit space sales, sponsorship sales, and print and digital advertising sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
- The Industry Sales Director will be responsible for meeting assigned annual sales
targets for exhibit space, sponsorships, print advertising, and digital assets. Spends time on the road visiting members/customers or potential members/customers. - The Industry Sales Director will manage time and task prioritization to successful represent all assets to customers/members.
- In persons sales calls and meetings as dictated by business needs and budget.
- Utilize sales CRM to log all customer activity.
- Attend industry events and shows as needed.
- Forecast and execute sales plans and participate in developing new sales opportunities.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to Senior Industry Sales Director
- Interfaces closely with VP, Sales
- Interfaces closely with Vice President, Events (SEMA). Trade Show Director (SEMA) Trade Show Director (PRI)
- Interfaces with Division Vice Presidents/Directors/employees.
- Works closely with sales team Sponsorship Manager and Project Manager
- Works with Sales Assistant for best efficiency/customer relations
- Interfaces with Association members, Exhibitors, SEMA Councils, and other associations, companies and agencies associated with the automotive aftermarket.
PRIMARY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Detailed knowledge of Exhibit space sales, and Advertising Sales. (pring and digital)
- Strong level of computer skills including all Microsoft programs, budgeting software, basecamp, and other software programs.
- Detailed knowledge of the automotive aftermarket and its specialty segments.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills with proven organizational and managerial skills and experience in group meeting facilitation.
- Knowledge of current and emerging media.
- Knowledge of computer systems and related software.
- Basic knowledge of budget development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related discipline or an equivalent number of years of direct related experience (5-7 years).
