Industrial Sewing Machine Operator (Swing Shift Sewer)

• Full Time, hourly, non-exempt, pay rate $20.00/hr, paid bimonthly

Essential Job functions:

• Operate a variety of Sewing Machines (overlock, sergers, zig-zag, single needle, grommet machine, bartack) to produce high-quality finished goods
• Perform additional tasks including pinning, measuring, cutting, and calculating measurements to support sewing operations
• Ensure accuracy, consistency and speed in sewing tasks. Follow directions, identify potential issues, and engage in continuous improvement efforts while meeting deadlines
• Utilize computer systems to track order priorities, exchange job-related communications, and confirm job paperwork aligns with digital information for precise task completion
• Collaborate enthusiastically with team members to boost productivity and efficiency, fostering a positive atmosphere and encouraging collective success
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored 
  
• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 11:00am -7:00pm but may vary based on operational needs

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in a production environment
• Experience working with Lycra or stretch fabrics preferred
• Proficient in high school level math for precise measurements and job-related calculations
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
• Experience working in an MRP environment is a plus, indicating the ability to work within a system that helps to plan, schedule, and manage manufacturing processes
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills preferred
• Ability to work mandatory overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Large percent of time performing tedious tasks in varying positions including standing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling
• Ability to stand, sit, and move within the facility for prolonged periods.
• Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds.

Equipo de costura:

• Realizar tareas adicionales como el pinzado, medición, corte y cálculo de medidas para apoyar las operaciones de costura.
• Asegurar precisión, consistencia y rapidez en las tareas de costura. Seguir instrucciones, identificar posibles problemas y participar en esfuerzos de mejora continua mientras se cumplen los plazos.
• Utilizar sistemas informáticos para rastrear las prioridades de los pedidos, intercambiar comunicaciones relacionadas con el trabajo y confirmar que los documentos del trabajo se alinean con la información digital para una completación precisa de las tareas.
• Colaborar entusiastamente con los miembros del equipo para aumentar la productividad y eficiencia, fomentando un ambiente positivo y alentando el éxito colectivo.
• Mantener un área de trabajo limpia y organizada, asegurando que las herramientas y equipos estén almacenados correctamente.

Habilidades y capacidades requeridas:

• Experiencia comprobada en liderazgo en un entorno de producción.
• Experiencia trabajando con lycra o telas elásticas preferida.
• Competencia en matemáticas de nivel de escuela secundaria para medidas precisas y cálculos relacionados con el trabajo.
• Habilidades básicas de informática y familiaridad con Microsoft Office o Google Suite.
• La experiencia laboral en un entorno MRP es una ventaja, lo que indica la capacidad para trabajar dentro de un sistema que ayuda a planificar, programar y gestionar procesos de fabricación.
• Se prefieren habilidades de comunicación bilingües (inglés/español).
• Capacidad para trabajar horas extras obligatorias según sea necesario.

Requisitos físicos:

• Gran parte del tiempo realizando tareas tediosas en diversas posiciones, incluyendo estar de pie, agacharse, arrodillarse y gatear.
• Capacidad para estar de pie, sentado y moverse dentro de la instalación durante períodos prolongados.
• Capacidad para levantar, empujar, jalar o llevar hasta 50 libras.
