Industrial Product Designer

Sassy Baby, a leader in infant product/learning toys has the immediate need for a well versed Industrial Designer. this role will work closely with the Design teams from concept to commercialization of new toy and other infant product.

This role collaborates with Design and QC departments to bring ideas to reality through knowledge of plastics, 3 dimensional design (using software for modeling a plus), Identify specification details of product and assembly, provide material recommendations.

This role will communicate with contract manufacturers in Asia to ensure product specifications is to company requirements, size, shape, color, quality and material. Some additional job duties include:

• Working with Design and Marketing teams, helps ideate new product ideas
• Working with Design brings product from 2D rendering to 3D state. This can include working with contract CAD designers and prototype builders, but the role is responsible for delivering accurate looks like and works like prototypes for visual presentation.
• Working with QC team ensures product design is safe.
• Working with Program Manager (Marketing) ensures product costing meets corporate financial objectives.
• Knowledge of plastics is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Toy industry is highly preferred. Or previous experience in infant/children’s products highly preferred.
• Knowledge of 3D software is mandatory.
• Ability to work on over 30 projects simultaneously is required.

Requirements

• Must have BS in related field.
• Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D Cad software.
• 3+ years of industrial design experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
