Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities. This position will actively support Lean and PM systems.
Responsibilities:
- Working at established levels of productions appropriate to the job and may be assigned similar or related work
- Responsible for process technology, equipment operations and safety to ensure customer satisfaction
- Assures presses are operating within set-up parameters
- Performs mechanical, electrical and electronic troubleshooting
- Follow established safe work practices
- Assist with diagnosis, repair, rebuild, installation and maintenance of PM & mechanical equipment used in production utilizing and demonstrating a basic understanding of
- Electrical power, steam systems and plumbing, compressor operations, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drive systems, machining operations & measurement, lubrication, vacuum systems, rigging, preventative maintenance practices
- Assist with the rebuilding of machines and repair of troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts
- Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities and grounds
- Report any issues and unsafe conditions
- Record and submits accurate production and quality data, work records, etc. appropriate to the job
- Preparation of mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Regularly communicate all necessary information shift to shift, to supervisor, across departments, regarding critical events, status changes and general updates using the Maintenance Communication Board or other means as required.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required (associate degree in a technical field preferred)
- Ability to pass Maintenance Mechanic test- standardized competency test: Basic terms of maintenance, brakes/clutches, pump maintenance, mechanical drive components, pneumatics, V-belt maintenance, Industrial Maintenance Safety, Bearings/Lubrication, Ind. Maintenance Practice, Couplings & Motors, Pipefitting & Steam, Hydraulics, Measurements & Machine tool practices
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility and 10 years of experience in maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 100 Lbs. on an occasional basis, 40 Lbs. regularly and be on your feet all day
- Availability to work occasional extended hours and occasional weekends
- Strong Interpersonal skills with keen ability to work well with others, do solo work in a team environment
