Job Summary
$29.13 - $34.13/hr
Performs routine and specialized mechanical duties in the repair and maintenance of automated and computerized equipment, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems to ensure quality expectations. Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform repairs to equipment. Provide technical training to lower level personnel. Monitor daily operations in absence of supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Perform maintenance duties in areas of, but not limited to, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and electronics.
- Maintain Plant upkeep and repair as needed.
- Perform welding, material handling and storage, plumbing, and pipefitting as needed.
- Assist lean department with lean initiatives and projects.
- Follow a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance.
- Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
- Demonstrates attention to detail; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the line supervisor or quality engineer immediately.
- Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Checks operating controls and safety stops on conveyor. Checks power and hand tools for correct operation, reports any unsafe working conditions.
Other Duties
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Serve on teams or committees as needed.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- Strong understanding of products and production processes and knowledge of quality control standards and systems.Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people.Above average analytical skill and strong problem solving, and trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to think outside the box and to develop unique and timely solutions to equipment problems.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with stressful situations.
- Positive team spirit and displays a great attitude; team facilitation skills.
- Availability for emergency service, as well as working weekends and other plant downtimes as necessary including holidays.
Physical Demands
- Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time; stoop, kneel, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, grasp, and pinch on a continual basis; and work with oils and lubricants.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20-50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- The employee is frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations and to receive ordinary information.
- Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two or four-year degree in Electronics or Automated Machine Repair with One-year experience in the automotive industry preferred.
Personal Protective Equipment
- The use of Safety Glasses required
- NFPA70e protective clothing is required
- Approved Safety Shoes are also required
- Ear Plugs and gloves are recommended
