OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION:
This position is part of the corporate Operational Excellence (OPEX) team and will be a business partner with the site-level operations team and senior leadership to drive improvement in Rohrer’s business and production processes. The Process Engineer will be a shared resource and will help deliver planned business results by identifying, leading, and implementing site-level strategic and tactical plans relating to process excellence. This role will find ways to eliminate waste and simplify our processes all with an eye to the bottom line. The role is a contributor-coach role with a high impact on the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
- Oversees and assesses existing business and operational processes and workflows with a goal of improving productivity and efficiency and eliminating waste
- Collaborates with all departments to implement changes to processes and ensure buy-in
- Optimizes productivity by developing, implementing, and testing new procedures that result in documentation of processes, procedures, work instructions, standardized work instructions, and related forms
- Assembles reports documenting process status and changes
- Identifies metrics that are leading indicators of future performance, and implement opportunities for improvement while tracking metric trends and shifts
- Communicates findings, proposals, and implemented solutions to upper management
- Focus on production, business, and management processes to support profitability, customer service, and product quality
- Provides thorough instructions for the successful implementation of process changes
- Identifies best practices and deploys those practices across all manufacturer sites
- Conducts risk assessments via PFMEA and DFMEA tools
- Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards
- Contributes to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Identify training needs and conduct proper training
- Helps develop training material for all new and updated processes
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or other Engineering related field.
- Lean, Lean Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints Certifications are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading multi-site activities
- Previous experience in quality or business process engineering
