The Industrial Engineer is responsible for propelling our company to the highest level of efficiency, quality and safety. They support the processes and justify improvements using an analytical, data backed approach. They will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Standard Operating Procedures and a strong contributor to our goal of zero accidents. The Industrial Engineer will work, under close supervision, and report to the Sr. Industrial Engineer
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Analyze manufacturing flows and identify waste and unsafe practices.
- Justify and deliver manufacturing improvements and cost reduction projects. Create the project justifications, ROI, timeline, etc. Oversee projects to completion.
- Participate in engineering design reviews to evaluate and approve concepts/drawings to ensure DFMA.
- Design fixtures and tools needed for manufacturing.
- Ensure work instructions exist for each station/process. Create and update work instructions as needed to improve quality and safety when opportunities are identified.
- Apply the latest in lean manufacturing techniques.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

- The ability to self-motivate to meet project deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to develop and detail 2D designs of complex fixtures.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and implementing safe work practices
- Disposition to work toward continuous design improvement
- Ability to use all the lean tools, DMAIC processes, FMEA, graphs, charts, solution matrix
- Experience in creating solid, data backed ROI's for improvement projects.
- Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs. and climb a ladder
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 2-7 years of relevant Engineering experience in a similar manufacturing environment with a proven track record of process and safety improvements that move the bottom line.
- Green belt certification required. Black belt preferred.
Working Conditions:
Primary working conditions will be office work with frequent daily activities in the manufacturing shop, and occasional activities working on equipment outdoors in any possible weather conditions.
Occasional travel to customer offices, shops, and worksites. Travel typically less than 5%.
