Indirect Procurement Manager
Department: Supply Chain, Corporate
Location: Hanover Park, IL
Type: Full-Time
Summary:
This position will have direct accountability for $20M+ per annum indirect spend across Prinova sites in the United States. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the position is responsible for all strategic sourcing activities for Prinova’s Indirect Materials and Services spend, with the goal of achieving significant cost reductions, while maintaining/improving product quality and vendor service levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Oversees all activities related to procurement of indirect materials and services, from intent to purchase through to delivery of project
  • Manages vendor selection and negotiation process for regional indirect vendors
  • Identifies, selects, and maintain suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a competitive price while meeting Prinova’s supplier code of conduct
  • Prepares and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, prices and acceptability of items to specifications
  • Implement a new SOP’s for Indirect Spend with the departmental “buyers”
  • Communicates actively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and performance management of the category
  • Ensures categories are contracted in line with the sourcing strategy to avoid maverick buying
  • Directly solves operational issues with indirect vendors
  • Reviews and resolves indirect vendor claims and contracts for conformance
  • Prepares and issue purchase contracts and change notices
  • Negotiates simple and complex requests for capital projects
  • Ensures alignment with global strategies and ways of working (where applicable)
  • Understands the impact of long term running cost and the engagement of business to minimize costs at an early stage
  • Determine and implement KPI’s that can be used to measure Indirect spend
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of corporate purchasing experience is required
  • Experience with indirect materials and services is highly preferred
  • Successful, multi-year (+5 years) track record within Manufacturing Industry in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering or Finance
  • Coupa Business Spend Management Experience highly preferred
  • Project Management Experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or Food Science
  • CPIM Certification preferred, but not required
  • MBA or MS degrees are desirable
  • Must be able to travel
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience analyzing and improving complex supply chain data, information and processes
  • High-level understanding of all aspects of indirect supply chain processes
  • Excellent interpersonal written and speaking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity or general aptitude for ERP systems is preferred
Travel:
Up to 10% travel
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Work environment is normally in an office setting. Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Other physical requirements include moderate standing and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting
  • Ability to stand for an extended periods of time
  • Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask
  • Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator
  • Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
