As the Indirect Lending Support Specialist, you are responsible for performing a wide variety of clerical and processing support to Indirect Lending, Titles and Remote Lending. This Specialist plays an integral role in facilitating exceptional dealer and member service by ensuring that tasks are completed accurately with all necessary member and dealer information. You are also the primary defense against fraud by mitigating red flags, verifying account information, identification and overall paperwork.
Every day you will:
- Consistently demonstrate alignment with OCCU vision and values.
- Process returned titles, returned mail, refund checks and physical or electronic titles.
- Act as liaison with GAP administrators on behalf of OCCU teams and members. Follow up with administrators to ensure refund the process is monitored to completion.
- Process GAP claims for loans with deficiency balances due to total loss circumstances. Order required reports and monitor status from initiation to completion.
- Process incoming claim payments and refund checks via member accounts or general ledgers (GL) for closed accounts. Issue cashier's checks to members as appropriate. Balance GL accounts daily.
- Process loan modifications, complete applicable transaction in the core operating system and store documents appropriately.
- Distribute new applications sourced from fax, email and online/mobile channels.
- Process check disbursements for private party sales, dealer direct sales, refinances, debt consolidation and other check requests.
- Contact members to acquire missing DMV documents as needed.
- Process requests generated from website inquiries when the loan option is selected.
- Act as a liaison between Loan Representative and members as requested to gather necessary information/documents and upload to the loan file.
- Conduct loan research, including locating disbursements that have not cleared and collaborating with members and other financial institutions.
- Use the check imaging system to research and process end-of-day checks.
- Determine appropriate action for discovered errors and ensure that solutions maintain compliance with OCCU and regulatory standards.
- Recognize and verify validity and completeness of lending documents and contracts. This includes but is not limited to contracts, purchase orders, application for titles, proof of name change documentation, bill of sale, insurance validation, credit bureaus, verify applications, warranties, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), dealer products and MSRP / book sheet.
- Audit incoming loan documents for quality, accuracy, completeness, validity, with fraud- prevention and detection in mind resulting in funded loan.
- Ensure that underwriting conditions are met by reviewing documentation and clearing conditions if warranted.
- Ensure that all legal and compliance requirements are met for each loan file.
- Use and maintain departmental spreadsheets for data logging and tracking as necessary.
- Respond to dealer, member and employee requests. Assist with requests or route to the appropriate contact when needed.
To thrive in this role, you must have:
- A minimum six months of similar or related experience.
- Competent skill in using computer for data entry and compiling information. This includes use of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe as well as internal systems.
