Job Summary and Job Duties:
This position is responsible for greeting patients and begin patient experience for appointment, completing the office visit and other various job duties. Must possess good organization skills and possess the ability to handle information in a confidential manner. This person will have a good personality with the ability to establish good working relationships with varying personalities (patients, co-workers, physicians and the public) This position requires the ability to perform office work directly related to general business operations, must exercise discretion and independent judgment.
The duties include but are not limited to:
- Check patients in and out from provider schedule
- Update and verify patient demographics in EMR
- Obtain insurance on established patients that do not require updates to their record
- Collect co-pay or balance payments
- Create patient cases as needed
- Schedule follow-up appointments
- Create off work/restriction notes as indicated by the provider at visit or in patient case
- Provide the note to patient at time of visit
- Contact patient to notify a note has been completed for pick-up
- Balance and close payment batches
- Reschedule patient appointments
- Clean waiting room
- Alert physical therapy when office clinic is completed
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignment to completion while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ensures all services provided are in a professional and safe manner
