Job Description
  • Provides functional management and supervision of the Import Export function supporting a business group within Ordnance Systems (OSI) business unit.
  • Acts as an empowered official and demonstrates a high level of expertise with US export and import laws including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
  • Under direction from leadership, provides strategy, planning, and execution for export/import plans related to market creation, bids, proposals, contracts, operations, procurement, security, communications, and related functions.
  • Drafts, reviews, approves, and manages ITAR authorizations including Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements, and Distribution Agreements, EAR Authorizations, and ATF authorizations and provides oversight for AES filings with Census Bureau.
  • Reviews, approves, and oversees compliance related to legal reporting and notifications, export classification, and the certification and use of license exemptions and exceptions for a business group.
  • Ensures compliance with record keeping and data management legal requirements.
  • Manages trade compliance practices related to document review, public release processes, review of international purchase orders and hardware shipments, foreign visits, and international travel requests for a business group.
  • Assists with internal investigations under direction of the SED and assists with the preparation of disclosures.
  • Supports implementation of export awareness training and specialized functional training across the BU.​​​​
  • Supports creation and management of processes, procedures, and work instructions under the direction of the SED.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Import/Export Compliance
  • Knowledge of ITAR/EAR Regulations
  • Knowledge of ATF Regulations
  • Ability to interpret regulations and navigate ambiguous environments
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement in the performance of duties
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, develop, and implement processes and procedures and adhere to time requirements and schedule
  • Ability to manage change and shifting priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (both orally and in writing) with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work effectively in a heavily matrixed environment
  • Team player, proactive, self-motivated, and highly organized
  • Driven to learn and stay abreast of defense and regulatory landscapes

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience working in OCR EMS export management software

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $102800 - $174800
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
