Import/Export Specialist[Direct Hire]

Direct Hire Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Import Export Specialist to grow with a well establish pipe and gauge manufacturer in Southwest Houston. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day compliance of oil and gas pipes and valves. Ensuring material is properly exported, imported and shipped per established corporate policies and procedures and US Customs Regulations and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) is key to this role. Bring your logistic experience and ambition to the team.
What You Will Do:
- Analyze import and export documentation for outgoing and incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and overall compliance.
- Responsible for ensuring correct HTS Classification, ADCVD rates applied
- Draft and monitor 232 Exclusions and US Customs Ruling
- Prepare necessary export documentation (SED, CI, P/L, Carnets etc.) ensuring compliance with US Government regulations as well as corporate policies.
- Provide Customs necessary documentation as required.
- Analyze customs duty exemptions and free trade agreements
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with the EAR, Sch. B, US Customs, HTS and classification of goods,
- Experience dealing with freight forwarders, customs brokers, supply chain, purchasing, and logistics with previous experience in creating and reviewing export/import documents
- Customs Broker license preferred
- MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AES filing and AES reporting experience
- A strong understanding of US Commerce’s Export Administration Regulations (EAR), HTS, 232/301 Tariffs, and applicable exemptions/exceptions
- U.S. Citizenship required and the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
- Occasionally required to travel within and outside the Continental U.S.
