We are currently looking for one very enthusiastic, qualified and experienced ESL (English) instructor to teach an in-person ESL level 1 class at a local Company in Smyrna, TN 37167. You will be teaching workplace-specific and conversational English to adult employees at this company.
Workplace Languages will provide most of the ESL curriculum but we are looking for in-person instructors who are qualified & committed to developing curriculum and materials that meet the specific needs of the company.
Requirements:
- Education Level: Must have an MA in ESL or English.
- Must be available on Tuesdays & Thursdays starting Tuesday, April 2nd.
- We cannot change the teaching schedule.
- There will be one level 1 class offered.
- The class needs to be taught In-Person at the Company in Smyrna, TN 37167.
- The time for the class is 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Start Date, Days and Times:
This Workplace ESL class will begin on Tuesday, April 2nd. The classes will be Tuesdays & Thursdays for 8 weeks. All classes are 90 minutes long. So each course would be 3 total hours of instructional hours per week for 8 weeks – 24 total hours of instruction. Start time for the classes is 11:30 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m.
The teacher must be available for all scheduled classes. We are unable to change this schedule as it is designed around the employees.
Workplace Languages will pay $100 per hour. Along with being paid for 24 hours of instruction, the teacher will also be paid for a Site Visit (up to 2 hours) + 1 hour for a New Teacher Orientation. So, $100/hr. X 27 Total Paid Hours or $2,700 per course taught. We will pay 1/3 upfront, 1/3 at the halfway point and at the end of the 8 weeks.
This is an excellent opportunity to "get your foot in the door" with us and have other future teaching opportunities with Workplace Languages. We will also pay the instructor to visit the company prior to the first class.
The successful candidate will be able to create a fun and productive English (ESL) learning environment and will be well-versed in curriculum development and required to help develop curriculum.
