II. POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for highly motivated undergraduates or graduate students to work with IFAC full-time, for 8 weeks. Interns will be assigned to a specific team (details below) for the duration of the internship. As an intern, you will gain valuable experience working in an international environment and learning from colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
III. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Interns will work in one of the following departments:
- Accountancy Education: works on a global approach to advancing accountancy education by staying up to date on the challenges posed by a rapidly changing environment and ensuring accountants have the necessary skills and competencies to succeed.
- Finance: provides management support and coordination for IFAC’s budgeting and financial activities.
- Human Capital: responsible for developing and implementing the human resource strategy of the organization, specifically in the areas of talent management, organizational and performance management, learning and development, and compensation.
- Communication: develops and executes strategies across various media platforms that advance the global accountancy profession and IFAC’s public interest mission. This includes oversight of all executive and leadership communications, media relations, digital and social communications, and reputation management.
Responsibilities will vary depending upon the department but may include:
- Researching and compiling information from professional accountancy organizations and other key stakeholder groups, covering issues and areas impacting the global accountancy profession.
- Assisting in creating, editing, and reviewing content for publications.
- Providing support to ongoing projects through research, data analysis, drafting reports, etc.
- Participating in internal team meetings and gaining insight into how relationships both internally and externally are developed and maintained.
- Assisting with the development of social media material, assisting with website design and implementation, and other resources to promote IFAC.
- Supporting IFAC staff on projects and other initiatives to support the department you are assigned to and the global accountancy profession.
- Assisting with recruitment, performance management, learning and development, and the overall life cycle of an employee.
- Preparing monthly bank statement reconciliations and ensuring all related activity is properly recorded in the general ledger.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS
- Obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and graduating in 2025 or 2026.
- Knowledge of Accounting and/or Finance preferred.
- Excellent research and analysis skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage projects and work independently.
- Flexible, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude, willing to take on projects and ask questions as needed.
