PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a strong hands-on ability to assist in the layout, assembly, fabrication, washing, painting, and shipping of custom hydraulic power units, pump & motor groups, panels, skids, and assemblies.
  • Read, understand, mark-up and process schematics, drawings, bills of material, quality sheets, test reports, and shipping documentation.
  • Set-up and operate welders, plasma cutters, torch sets, pipe threading machine, band saws, drill presses, magnetic drill press, iron worker, hose machines, tube benders, tube flaring machines, and steam pressure washer.
  • Assist in measuring, cutting, assembling, crimping, cleaning, and installing hoses.
  • Assist in tube layout, bending, flaring, cleaning, installing, and clamping.
  • Mechanical assembly and related mounting of pumps & motors, filters, valves, heaters, coolers, manifolds, panels, and other hydraulic components.
  • Fabricate brackets, clamps, supports, mounting pads, skids, frames, and structures
  • Weld structural steel, couplings, pipe, brackets, Etc. with the use of STICK, MIG, & TIG processes and procedures.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of product types, operation, applications, and model codes.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of fabrication processes, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with other employees.

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

 

Experience

  • Two years in an industrial related field.
  • Practical job use of Stick, MIG, or TIG welding.
  • Preferred: Hydraulic fieldwork experience

 

Skills/Aptitudes

  • Must be able to demonstrate basic welding techniques
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with organizational skills.
  • Structural steel fabrication and welding.
  • Pipe threading and fitting.
  • Fabrication equipment set-up and operation.
  • Industrial material handling equipment use.
  • Must have general knowledge and hands-on ability to set-up and operate fabrication equipment (Welders, plasma cutter, horizontal band saw, drill press, iron worker, pipe threading machine, forklift, overhead crane, and common power tools).
  • Must possess technical ability to read and understand shop drawings and schematics, along with common vocabulary knowledge used in steel, pipe, and hydraulic fields.
  • Must have basic mechanical hand tools and mobile toolbox.
  • Must be able to fabricate quality units from, (drawings, schematics, bill of material, sketches, photographs or customer requirements) in a timely manner.
  • Must be willing to pursue product knowledge and advanced training to achieve higher quality, production, job titles and pay grades.
  • Position requires a strong hands-on ability to layout hydraulic power units, basic structural fabrication and use of STICK, MIG, & TIG welding processes of structural steel and pipe.

 

Training

  • Material handling rigging and lifting

  • OSHA 10 safety.

Travel

  • Must be willing to work out of town short term or fluctuating schedules as needed to meet the customer's needs.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time, hourly position. The candidate should reside within 50-mile radius of the facility in Charlotte, NC. Some weekend and overtime work may be required. Some travel will be required, typically within the Southeast, US. Lifting of 50+ lbs and being on your feet for long periods of time will be required. All personnel must create and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
