A Day in the Life of an HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician

The HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician position services, repairs and/or proposes replacement of warm air furnaces, air conditioners, duct distribution systems, boilers, water heaters, related piping and electrical. They must be able to service and startup equipment, and adjust to the manufacturers and job specification. The HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician troubleshoots, adapts, and resolves/repairs all issues that arise that would keep the equipment from functioning properly and communicates to the consumer on the proper operation and owner's maintenance of the installed equipment. In addition, they answer related questions as to operation, features, and functions to the homeowner. The HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician performs required documentation for each call, recording recommendations, repairs, accurate readings, and observations and has the client sign necessary paperwork and collect payments as directed.

What you Need to be Qualified for the HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician Position

In order to be qualified for the HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician position, you must be highly motivated and committed to learning the HVAC profession with 1+ years of experience. We are looking for candidates who are customer service oriented and can communicate effectively with associates, superiors, vendors and customers. In addition, they must have a good working knowledge of our products and services being offered, which may require additional study and training both on and off site. Our HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician must establish goals and objectives as they relate to the position, along with a plan of action to attain or exceed set goals and regularly review and monitor progress against goals, and seek assistance as needed. They will learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications and must be able to accurately list/order materials and supplies. They will work under time constraints, budgetary limits, and pressures so they will need to know how to efficiently manage their time and schedules. Our HVAC Residential Apprentice Service Technician must maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance and be able to work and drive safely, and be able to recognize and avoid dangerous situations.
