Hvac And Refrigeration Technician

Our clients are rapidly growing mechanical and engineering companies serving New England and are hiring for various technician roles.

The job of HVAC Technician was established for the purposes of providing HVAC services with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.

Essential Functions of the HVAC Technician:

• Diagnoses the causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
• Job may require lifting boxes, equipment, or other materials up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist height, 1-2 times per day
• Job may require bending, lifting, stretching, climbing (ramps/ladders/multiple flights of stairs).
• Job may require carrying equipment up to 50 lbs.up to 50 feet, 1-2 times per day.
• Job may require pushing and pulling equipment up to 75 lbs. for up to 5 feet., 3-4 times per day.
• Job requires the lifting and carrying of 20 lb. tool belt/bag from floor to shoulder height, 1-2 times per hour up to 200 feet.
• Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
• Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems.
• Repairs heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment.
• Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
• May be assigned a company cellular phone and is expected to have it turned on and be available for communications at all times.
• The Technician may be assigned a company vehicle and is expected to keep it clean and organized inside and out.
• Drives company vehicle in a safe manner at all times, always wearing safety belt.
• Follow all safety regulations and precautions.
• Wear all required and necessary Personal Protective Equipment.
• Performs other related work as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s License
• OSHA 10-hour certifications
• Acceptable driving record
• Availability to work overtime hours when needed
• Ability to lift heavy boxes, equipment, and other materials
• Ability to work in all types of weather

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
