Summary
The Human Resources/Talent Acquisition Assistant serves as a strong support partner to the Human Resources department regarding a wide variety of HR functions including full-cycle talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee engagement, and other aspects of HR and Safety.
Talent Acquisition:
- Full life-cycle recruiting including placing ads, screening, and interviewing candidates.
- Researching, recommending, and attending job fairs.
- Checking references and conducting background checks, preparing and making offers.
- Onboard new hires and further develop the onboarding process.
Benefits Administration:
- Administration and coordination of company benefit programs.
- Answer employee questions and support their concerns and needs related to their benefit coverage.
- Provide employees with information, paperwork, process and track all leave of absence and disability requests.
- Process workers compensation and unemployment compensation claims.
- Assist with the coordination of annual open enrollment.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Listen and help employees with concerns and complaints, referring complex matters to the Human Resources Manager.
- Lead the Employee Engagement Committee and coordinate employee engagement initiatives.
- Offboard exiting employees, including conducting exit interviews.
HR Recordkeeping:
- Maintain personnel files.
- Update databases and complete reports timely and accurately.
- Oversee performance appraisal process.
- Coordinate and track employee training ensuring that appropriate training is completed by department managers.
Other Duties:
- Assist with implementing HR policies and procedures and maintaining the employee handbook.
- Keep up to date on HR practices and legal requirements.
- Assist as needed with payroll tasks; serve as backup for processing payroll.
Experience and Skills:
Core Competencies
- Full cycle recruitment, HRIS and employee benefits experience.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and to demonstrate compassion and sensitivity to employees.
- Ability to prioritize as well as handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Solid problem solving and critical thinking skills; self-motivated.
- Keen attention to detail; able to keep accurate and thorough records.
- Excellent computer skills including Excel and Applicant Tracking Systems. Ability to quickly learn new software programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of related human resources on the job experience including performing full cycle recruitment.
- 2+ years of benefits administration experience including knowledge related to benefits compliance.
- 2+ years experience using HR software (HRIS; Applicant Tracking Systems) including to create, maintain and run reports.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
