JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Human Resources Specialist
Reports To: Human Resources Director
Status: Full Time, Salary
Job Summary:
- The HR Specialist will function as a business partner to internal and external customers and support all functions of the Human Resources department including recruitment, onboarding, training, safety, employee relations, performance management, staff development and administrative tasks.
- Support the mission and values of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta by adhering to and assisting in the alignment of all tasks and functions to best practices and policies that comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Assists in creating the ultimate candidate and employee experience.
- Promotes a healthy, positive, and productive work environment and experience for all employees
- Participates in ongoing, job-related professional development and establishes related partnerships and network with other clubs and HR professionals.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
- Answers questions about HR policies, procedures and practices related to all HR functions.
- Assists with all off boarding tasks including exit interviews.
- Develop and distributes, with the guidance of the VPPC, HR newsletter.
- Manages the onboarding process of new hires including HR Orientation.
- Aids with developing, updating, implementing organizational guidelines, procedures, and policies.
- Manages updates to employee handbook.
- Assists with development and preparation of professional development, training, presentations, etc.
- Support and assistance to applicants, new hires, and employees during established, after hours, training, events, etc.
- Assists with the recruitment process by registering for events, fairs, scheduling interviews, reference checks, etc., as needed.
- Oversees the management of the organization's talent database.
- Conducts analysis of employment-related data and prepares required reports and updates.
- Partners with administration and leadership on employee relations, full cycle recruitment, etc.
- Coordinates employee recognition initiatives.
- Always demonstrates strict confidentiality.
Educational Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR combination of post-secondary education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of similar work experience.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time with efficiency and precision.
- Able to be a self starter and work independently. •
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong people and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient use of technology, particularly Microsoft Office Suite applications, spreadsheets, Talent databases, etc.
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills.

Environment & Working Conditions:- Typical internal office environment. Possible travel to club locations within the Greater Augusta area. Consistent Internal contact with employees, applicants, volunteers, and business partners. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise.
