Job description

The School District of Clayton is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to assist the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in all aspects of school personnel functions. The Human Resources Specialist performs a variety of technical duties and assistance to prospective and current personnel, assists in the recruitment, screening, and processing of new personnel, and prepares and maintains a variety of related personnel files, records, and reports.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Performs high-level data entry and maintenance, including the processing of employment paperwork and payroll, and DESE Core Data entry and maintenance.
  • Uses high-level budget maintenance and tracking skills in record keeping for the department.
  • Establishes and maintains a variety of personnel files and records with discretion according to established procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Completes surveys updating Human Resources data.
  • Processes paperwork for payment of extra duty contracts.
  • Prepares and submits information and paperwork for Board of Education approval.
  • Prepares employee contracts, worksheets, and employment paperwork.
  • Assists with preparation of reports, as necessary.
  • Updates and maintains CSD Core Data for the department.
  • Updates and maintains a tracking system for teacher certification.
  • Updates and maintains tracking system for teacher degree database.
  • Completes salary advancements twice a year.
  • Maintains and assists hiring managers with performance evaluations within the performance management system.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.

  • Requires technical knowledge, including Google Suite and other software.
  • Requires ability to read and interpret correspondence, reports, and legal documents for administrative purposes.

  • Requires ability to operate standard office and classroom equipment.
  • Requires ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Requires strong skills in basic mathematical concepts

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative support role within an educational environment preferred; experience using Frontline Education, TalentEd, Google Suite, PowerSchool, BoardDocs, and DESE web applications is highly desirable.
Compensation: District provides its staff with competitive pay. Salary determination will be based on similar experience. This job will fall under Job Grade I. Salary Guide

Work Calendar: 12 Months, 260 Days
