Presbyterian Homes & Services Waverly Gardens is seeking a Human Resources Onboarding and Retention Specialist for our team.  

The Human Resources Onboarding and Retention Specialist (OARS) will serve as a dedicated facility resource to ensure new employees are supported throughout the hiring process (Onboarding And orientation), initiate and deploy program tools, disseminate data to team members, assist in determining why employees are leaving (retention and turnover), and build relationships and initiatives to support employee retention.  

The Onboarding and Retention Specialist will deploy a facility action plan and ensure program initiatives and changes become integrated for on-going deployment in the organization.

This position is grant funded and is scheduled to start January 2024 through December 2025.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, employee relations, business administration or related degree or experience preferred, but not required.

Experience:   Project management experience preferred (or willingness to learn). 

Experience in hiring, supervising, and/or onboarding a plus.

4. Ability to learn how to navigate and leverage data from HR software platform.

7. Ability to lead and work alongside staff, residents, and families.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
9. Ability to maintain confidential information.
10. Proficient with, or willing to learn, continuous quality improvement.
11. Understand, interpret, and utilize data to improve the employee experience.
12. Ability to demonstrate high emotional intelligence.
13. Demonstrate a diplomatic demeanor to effectively resolve conflict.
14. Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate all stakeholders.
15. Ability to travel 10% of the time for program needs.
16. Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, problem solving, organizational, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
17. Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
18. Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
