Human Resources Manager
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
Location: Reserve Plant – 573 West 10th Street, Reserve, LA
Reports To: Director of Finance and Administration
Status: Exempt
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Human Resources function, including recruitment, training and development, performance management, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in attracting and retaining top talent, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring the overall success of our organization.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective Human Resources strategies, policies, and procedures to support the organization's goals and objectives.
- Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Manage the full cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of candidates.
- Conduct regular training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and coaching.
- Resolve employee relations issues in a fair and timely manner, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations by regularly reviewing and updating HR policies and practices.
- Conduct investigations and take appropriate actions in response to employee complaints or concerns.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement employee engagement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports as needed.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Human Resources Manager or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient in HRIS and other HR related software applications.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is highly desirable.
