Manager of Human Resources (HR) - Your Job Duties:
You will centralize HR within the Firm, serving as the Firms HR resource for everything from compliance to employee relations.
30% Employee Relations
- Serve as a resolution point-of-contact for all employee related matters including performance improvement plans and other disciplinary action as needed
- Support the Office Managers at each office location in creating a homogenous Firm culture across all offices (ie: dress code, leaves, time off requests, punctuality, etc.)
- Assist with employee matters including leave of absence/maternity leaves, , benefits, firm policies, wage and hour questions, professional licensure questions, entering time, expense reimbursements
- Oversee new team members first day onboarding process
- Provide coaching and word tracks to the management team and Office Managers (ex: role plays, discussing risks) on how to address employee matters / conflict resolution
- Handbook update changes communicated to team and updating annual handbook
- Annual compliance trainings required (harassment prevention) schedule training and make sure everyone is up to date with training / ongoing compliance with training
- Ensuring ongoing compliance with HR matters including labor law posters are on site at every office location,
- Maintain up to date on ongoing HR compliance requirements, researching and communicating relevant changes to management
- Collaborate directly with third-party consultants (HR advisor or HR attorney) for escalated matters
- Ensure employee file includes all relevant employee documentation and files are complete
- Set up the Talent Acquisition module in the third-party system (Paycom)
- Administer the candidate offer letter and hiring package, coordinating with hiring manager
- Administer pre-hire screening process (through third-party provider)
- Bring your ideas and process improvements that standardize the recruitment process
- Assist with the annual evaluation/review process, and quarterly performance check ins including ensuring issuing evaluations, notifications to employees, documentation in Paycom and staff accountability to complete performance evaluations timely
- Metric-driven Human Resources reviewing and compiling key KPIs and data and evaluating against benchmark firms, general market (ie: turnover, cost per hire)
- Process bi-monthly payroll
- Ongoing monitoring of the timekeeping system, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws (ie: meal breaks) / inquiring with staff regarding unusual time keeping items
- Key in merit adjustments for raises
- You quickly build rapport with the staff in each office.
- You take ownership of job duties, projects, processes, and outcomes.
- You understand all of the human resource related workflows in the Firm.
- You are an open ear for team members to provide feedback and bring process improvements.
You have:
- Previous experience and a well-rounded knowledge of human resource (HR) including employee relations, compliance, recruitment and payroll

- Human Resources certification (PHR / SPHR / SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP or related)
- Prior experience working in a billable environment (ie: professional services or consulting firm, CPA firm, law firm, architecture firm)
- Experience working with Paycom or related HRIS system.
Compensation $95,000 to $110,000 base salary.
