Human Resource Manager – Full Time
Paul Phillips Eye & Surgery Center is a physician-owned, multi-specialty ophthalmic practice dedicated to meeting the needs of the community. We currently have 10 physicians with 3 locations in north-central NJ. The practice offers comprehensive eye health services including specialization in surgical and medical retina, oculoplastic, uveitis, cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma, pediatrics, contact lens fittings, and full-service optical. The organization is seeking a Human Resources Manager who will be directly responsible for all human resource functions within the practice (60+ employees), including staff screening, interviewing, and hiring - in collaboration with department managers, employee retention, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and administering policies. This individual will oversee and track the completion of the employee performance evaluations and any associated pay changes. We are looking for an optimistic and creative problem solver who can assist in planning and coordinating continuing in-service training sessions relevant to the needs of department personnel. This position requires maturity, sensitivity, and discretion to effectively manage the employee lifecycle. Manager must be a college graduate with human resource certification and will be required to stay up-to-date on all company personnel policies, procedures, and regulations in compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. Prior healthcare experience is strongly desired.
Responsibilities
Manages staff recruitment, hiring, retention, and separation.
Ensures company personnel policies and procedures are current and compliant with federal and state
labor law.
Maintains an awareness of employee morale and makes recommendations for company improvements.
Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
Creates and manages job descriptions with department managers.
Assists in planning, coordinating, and conducting orientation, continuing education/training programs as
needed in the departments.
Maintains employee files and records confidentially and verifies employee’s licenses and certifications.
Responds to inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
Responds to all employee relation issues and advises management in appropriate resolution.
Processes payroll and benefits.
Works with benefits consultant to obtain bids at renewal, conduct open enrollment and benefits
meetings, process enrollments and changes, and approve benefit invoices for payment.
Analyzes wage and benefit reports and data to determine competitive total compensation plans.
Represents the company for any unemployment claims, worker’s compensation claims.
Job Requirements:
College degree required
Human resource certification required
2-3 years’ experience in Human Resources required
Healthcare experience strongly desired
