HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER
DEFINITION:
The HR Manager is responsible for developing and executing people programs to support the business plan for our manufacturing facility, specifically in the areas of business partnering, organizational effectiveness, and special program development. This position manages accompanying support roles, is part of a team of several peers, and reports to the Head of HR (People & Culture). This role functions as a “Player/Coach” by providing clear direction to the plant HR and Operations team to ensure the plant meets its people and culture objectives, to support long-term sustainability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a strategic partner to functional operations leaders by possessing a thorough understanding of production needs translating those needs into relevant HR action initiatives.
- Design and facilitate Talent Management processes to strengthen the capabilities of the workforce - this includes but not limited to: Strategic Resource Reviews, Performance Management, Compensation Processes and Practices.
- Design and facilitate Training and Development initiatives - this includes but is not limited to coordination and execution of Inpidual Development Plans and associated training/development programming by job family.
- Develop and monitor workforce plans; manage and execute recruitment & selection processes with hiring managers. Provide guidance and influence regarding staffing decisions and changes to ensure we are “Leveraging People Strengths”.
- Be a role model and advocate of the culture of “Leveraging People Strengths”. Provide HR leadership, support, and guidance. Work as an active member of business area management team to foster a culture of collaboration while supporting HR Policies & Practices.
- Support and execute organizational changes by providing appropriate level of leadership, change management and best practice solutions from the HR perspective.
- Address employee relations issues proactively. Be the point of contact for team members in the assigned business areas to address concerns / facilitate resolution, with appropriate feedback.
- Analyze trends in hiring, staffing, turnover, compensation to highlight areas of improvement for assigned business areas, or enterprise-wide.
- Responsible for accurate recordkeeping in HRIS, ensuring all HR databases support the needs of the HR team and the business, and compliance with local, state and federal law.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred certifications: SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SCP) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
- Strong professional experience in Human Resources in multi-shift manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in all facets of Human Resources processes including: management coaching and development, performance management, recruiting, talent assessment, learning & development, organizational design, and employee relations
- Proven ability to influence change through coaching technique not through command/control or lecture
- Demonstrated experience of building organization capability through people and processes
- Previous experience designing management systems, policies, structures, and procedures to meet business needs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Up to date knowledge of current and pending employment law and regulation
