Position Summary
Berkshire’s Human Resources Internship Program provides students an enriched experience with hands-on opportunities through projects and real-life situations.
We are searching for a self-starter, confident, and enthusiastic intern to be part of our Human Resources team in our Boston, MA headquarters. This internship position is excellent for a student who is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources with an anticipated graduation date of 2024 or 2025. This internship will focus primarily on Talent Management where the intern will partner with Recruitment, Employee Relations, and Employee Development.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist VP, HR with Talent Management activities and data base management
- Assist Corporate Recruiting Manager with Talent Acquisitions; partnering with managers on opening a position, updating job descriptions and job charters, interviewing candidates, assisting with new hire orientation and maintaining applicant tracking system.
- Assist Senior HR Generalist with employee relations situations and employee development/coaching.
- Assist in special research projects
- Provide a high level of customer service in a fast paced client focused environment
At the end of the summer, the intern will prepare and deliver a presentation to Berkshire’s Senior Leadership Team summarizing a project or key task they have been working on at Berkshire, the insights they gained through their internship experience, and any recommended process enhancements.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Experience:
- Interest in Human Resources and real estate
- Available to work in person from mid-May to mid-August (approx. 12 weeks) from 9:00 am-5:30 pm, Monday through Friday
- Ability to present findings to senior leadership
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality
- Detail oriented, organized, and motivated
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer service and collaboration skills
- Objective thinking skills
- Have an aptitude for learning and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people and develop strong relationships throughout Berkshire
- Ability to prioritize based in opportunity and effectively multitask
- Open and comfortable with feedback
Technical/ Educational Requirements:
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources with an anticipated graduation date of 2024 or 2025.
- Strong analytical and technical skills preferred
- Experienced with Microsoft suite of products
