Human Resources Intern

Opportunity Stanislaus is seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our growing Talent Development team! We are the area’s premiere economic development organization with a focus on attracting new companies/tourists to our area and on providing our investors with the services they need to grow and thrive.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Intern will support the Talent Development team as we work to help our investors recruit talent, upskill their employees, and provide training solutions for our region’s toughest challenges. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Talent Development, the successful candidate will have a high degree of initiative, and enthusiasm about Human Resources, and be technologically proficient across different software programs. This internship will allow you to apply basic HR fundamentals via hands-on involvement in recruiting, training, and outreach.

Responsibilities

• Human Resources coursework preferred but open to related degrees including business, communications or marketing.
• Proven organizational skills and strong multi-tasking and execution skills emphasizing adhering to deadlines.
• Creative, analytical, and detail-oriented self-starter who can work successfully both independently and as part of a team
• Interacting with investors to understand recruiting needs, posting recruitments, and screening candidates.

Skills and Qualifications

• You must have basic design skills to create flyers and social media materials. Use of Spark and Canva are just fine.
• You must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Zoom, and Google docs.
• You must be comfortable with basic writing tasks such as business letters, call scripts, event scripts or fact sheets.
• You must be familiar with basic social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter. Experience with social media scheduling platforms is a plus.
• You must be able to do online research, vetting out truth and citing sources.
• You may be asked to work on special events, which require a high degree of organization and flexibility.
