Who we are seeking: 

  • Proven experience in HR coordination or a similar role, ideally within a professional service firm
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws 
  • Previous exposure to benefits administration, compliance management, and employee relations 
  • Highly motivated, self-starter individual looking to progress their career in Talent and Human Resources 

About the position: 

This position is best suited for a highly driven individual with prior Human Resources experience seeking career growth outside their comfort zone. The Human Resources Generalist will play a vital role in supporting a rapidly growing professional services organization, supporting the Director of Talent Management in ensuring compliance with policies and regulations and providing administrative support to the Human Resources department.  

This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong understanding and adherence to process, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information to enforce effective, scalable business processes across all functions. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Compliance and Policy Implementation: 
    • Stay abreast of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations 
    • Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies and procedures 
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements 
    • Support the Director of Talent Management in conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations 
    • Support in collaboration with legal resources to address any compliance concerns. 
  • Administrative Support: 
    • Actively manage HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data entry, ensuring accuracy and completeness of employee records
    • ​​​​​​​Assist in the preparation and distribution of HR-related documents, such as offer letters, contracts, performance reviews, and employee handbooks
    • Handle the logistics of new employee orientations and onboarding processes 
  • Employee Relations: 
    • Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures 
    • Assist in resolving employee relations issues by conducting initial investigations and providing support to the Director of Talent Management 
    • Maintain open communication channels to foster a positive work environment 
  • Benefits Administration: 
    • Support the administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks 
    • ​​​​​​​Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and coordinate open enrollment processes 
  • Performance Management/Training and Development: 
    • Support the performance review process by tracking timelines, collating feedback, and assisting in the preparation of performance documentation 
    • ​​​​​​​Help ensure consistency in the application of performance management processes 
    • Assist with coordinating training initiatives and development programs for employees 
    • Help ensure certifications training records are up to date  
    • Track employee participation in various learning opportunities. 
  • Reporting and Special Projects: 
    • Generate reports as needed for HR metrics, compliance audits, and other analyses 
    • Assist in the planning and execution of special HR projects and initiatives 
    • ​​​​​​​Support in the collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve HR-related objectives 

Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • Human Resources, Business Administration or related degree (Bachelor’s degree required) 

  • 3 - 5 years of prior Human Resources or related work experience 

  • HR credentials or a demonstrated interest in obtaining credentials are preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) 

  • Strong understanding of Human Resources policies, concepts, procedures and employment laws 

  • Strong skills with HRIS systems (BambooHR, Gusto), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) and ERP systems (Sage Intacct experience highly preferred) 

  • Proactive, responsive, motivated, and a self-starter with the ability to work in a demanding environment 

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail 

  • Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills 

  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest discretion 

  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment

Compensation: 

HR Generalist offers a base salary ranging from $90k to $115k.  The interview process will determine the final title and compensation based on the candidate's experience and day-1 capabilities. Palm Tree offers top medical, dental, and vision premium coverage, a competitive 401k program, an unlimited paid time off (PTO) policy (no formalized limits; take as needed), a robust maternity/paternity leave program, and many other fringe benefits.
