About the Position
The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) coordinates the nation's organ transplant system, providing vital services to meet the needs of men, women and children awaiting lifesaving organ transplants. Based in Richmond, Va., UNOS is a private, nonprofit membership organization. UNOS members encompass every transplant hospital, tissue matching laboratory and organ procurement organization in the United States, as well as voluntary health and professional societies, ethicists, transplant patients and organ donor advocates. 
The UNOS Summer Internship Program is a 12-week, immersive experience that offers young adults the opportunity to test and apply the skills they have developed through a variety of focused internship assignments. Our program offers competitive rates, hands-on learning, both professional and personal development opportunities, and access and exposure to senior leaders. The 2024 summer rotation dates are May 20 - August 9.

Join our highly collaborative, fast-paced team in supporting the UNOS lifesaving mission. 
Key Responsibilities 
Collaborate on initiatives to enhance employee engagement. 
Participate in the planning and execution of employee events and activities. 
Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs. 
Conduct reviews of HR policies and procedures. 
Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations. 
Support the compensation administration process. 
Assist in conducting market research to ensure competitive compensation practices. 
Contribute to the maintenance and updating of HR information systems. 
Assist in generating HR reports and analytics. 
Participate in the recruitment process, including resume screening and interview coordination. 

Minimum Requirements 

Currently enrolled (or recent graduate)- Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources or other related field of study. Candidates at the undergraduate level must have completed their sophomore year of studies. 
Critical Skills 
Strong business acumen and understanding of HR principles. 
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. 
Customer-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal skills. 
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks. 
Highest level of confidentiality and discretion. 
Effective communication skills including writing, public speaking, and active listening. 

Additional Skills & Qualifications 

Enthusiastic and proactive approach to learning and contributing. 
Proficiency in MS Office applications. 
Ability to work collaboratively on a team, work independently on a task until completed, and prioritize projects, meetings, and tasks as needed. 
Work Environment 
Onsite with the ability to work from home as needed. 
All working spaces equipped with standing desk options.
