Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team. As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions and supporting the overall administration, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the human resource functions within the organization. In this fast-paced and collaborative environment you will own the various duties related to daily administration and HR support while ensuring a positive and professional experience for all.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments/reviews. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and seasonal workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts/evaluates exit interviews.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to senior HR staff.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Implements and annually updates/rewrites job descriptions as necessary; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Performs routine payroll processing, maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Ensure payroll management system practices are regularly monitored.
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment laws.

What we're looking for:

  • At least 2-4 years of HR related experience strongly preferred
  • Hold a minimum of PHR or SHRM-CP certification
  • Have a passion for Human Resources as a career path
  • Willing to begin this role part time with a desire to transition to full time
  • Expert in working with fully remote teams nationwide
  • Highly professional, utilize good judgment, and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and social communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual communication platforms and/or similar systems.
  • Able to work independently as well as with a team and autonomously.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects.

What We Offer:

  • Part Time schedule - 5 hour shift between 10am-5pm (CST)
  • Position has the potential to transition to Full Time following 6 months
  • $22.00-26.00/hr depending on experience
