Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a strategic partner to an assigned region or business unit to deliver an end-to-end employee experience that drives retention and growth. The HRG strives to instill a best-in-class employee experience through manager and employee coaching, developing and implementing strategic HR initiatives at the vertical level, ensuring consistent compliance with policies and regulations, advising on compliance issues, and driving employee engagement and development initiatives.

Prospective Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

• Acts as a trusted advisor and coach to the senior regional and business unit leadership teams. Builds deep understanding and relationships. 
• Facilitates talent-related change management activities. Evaluates the impact of proposed changes on employees; advises the client groups on alternatives and change mitigation. 
• Facilitates annual performance cycle, talent review, and succession and development planning, ensuring follow-up programs are delivered.
• Coach and consult supervisors and leaders within the region on best employment practices, talent management, employee engagement, employee development, etc. so they can better lead the organization to meet established business targets
• Coach and support managers in the development of performance improvement plans; provide one-on-one support as needed
• Facilitate the end-to-end, full-cycle employee experience and relationship, from offer, screening, onboarding, reviews, skill enhancement, career development, and exit
• Acts as an advisor/resource to other HR team members
• Support and provide backup coverage to other HR team members
• Ensure regulatory compliance relative to the day-to-day management of employees within the assigned region, collaborating with HR team as needed
• Prepare offer letters and engage potential employees post-offer
• Work with CPO to analyze people metrics within assigned region to identify trends and courses of action; proactively share metrics with vertical or regional leadership to help drive behavior and action
• Think strategically, bringing both a business and employee perspective to issues; acts as a change agent, offering creative “out of the box” solutions
• Maintain awareness of the culture, plans, strategic growth objectives, etc. within the vertical, region, and Consor overall
• Mediate and resolve employee issues, discern when to elevate risk-related employment and employee relation issues to CPO and compliance team; assist with thorough and objective investigations in concert with the compliance team when necessary
• Develop means of building morale, improving workplace relationships, and boosting productivity and retention with assigned region and Consor overall
• Serve as the interface with employees and provide top-notch employee assistance in line with Consor’s culture and core values; adhere to our 24-hour or less response goal
• Assist with other assigned functions
• Works on complex, multi-disciplinary projects
• Works under the general direction of Director of Employee Experience
• Review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgement

• HR certification, such as PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, etc.
• HR experience in California with a strong understanding of California employment laws and regulations
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a professional services environment
• Understanding of prevailing wage
• Experience in an AEC environment
• Able to deliver exceptional HR service to employees, management teams, and other corporate partner groups
• Seen as a ‘team player’ with a consultative style and ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy in interactions with all levels of the organization in a matrixed team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the experience of making presentations, conducting training, and partnering with a broad HR team on special projects
• Strong expertise in US employment law, compliance, and managing sensitive investigations
• Excellent follow through skills and the ability to anticipate and address business needs proactively
• Ability to maintain perspective, balance, and focus through challenges, uncertainty, and change
• Ability to work on own initiative, with the ability to prioritize and remain calm under pressure
• Technology oriented with well-developed computer skills including email and MS Office – Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
• Extremely detailed oriented with highly accurate data entry skills
• High degree of professionalism, adaptability, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality
