Job Description: Human Resources Generalist
CLASSIFICATION PURPOSE
This exempt position is primarily responsible for supporting the company’s Human Resources functions (e.g., staffing, training, development, payroll), safety program, and administrative policies and procedures, contribute to the company’s business goals; perform related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Supports all staffing activities (e.g., establishes recruitment plans, develops relationships with recruitment sources, conducts screening and interview processes,);
- addresses assignments related to the company’s compensation system.
- assists with the Company medical benefits programs (e.g., open enrollment, paperwork, tracking, audits);
- ensures proper entry, storage, and use of employee data (e.g., application, benefits, wages, vacation, sick time, 401k, and ESOP Etc.);
- tracks all legally required leaves of absence (e.g., FMLA, ADA).
- Onboarding and offboarding processes and documentation.
- Administering the quarterly employee survey (business health checkup)
- supports employee leave programs (PTO, Sick Leave, disability);
- updates employee information (e.g., title changes, position transfers, rehires, terminations, LOAs);
- performs all workers’ compensation duties (e.g., claim creation, paperwork, compliance, investigation, representative interface);
- tracks all city, county, and state minimum wage rates.
- ensures all required employment posters are current in all locations.
- ensures legal compliance with all federal, state, and local employment statutes.
- coordinates the Company safety program (e.g., training documentation, audits, OSHA records).
- assists with the performance management system (e.g., feedback, discipline, documentation);
- coordinates, conducts, and maintains all aspects of the New Employee Orientation program using BambooHR.
- performs training and development efforts as directed at all departments, Sales, Operations, Service and Accounting.
- operates office equipment.
- addresses employee complaints, grievances, and morale issues.
- assists in various organizational change initiatives.
- administers policies and procedures.
- makes recommendations regarding Human Resources issues.
- supports the organizational culture that fosters positive employee relations, teamwork, and productivity.
- coordinates company recognition events.
- maintains legally compliant file management procedures (e.g., storage, documentation, destruction);
- attends meetings.
- performs follow-up, consultation, and administrative back-up as needed.
- supports the employee handbook revision process and all administrative policies and procedures.
- develops, revises, and maintains company-wide documents, forms, and documentation.
- maintains legally compliant file management procedures (e.g., storage, documentation, destruction);
- supports field staff and office employees.
- tracks administrative metrics (e.g., employee files, acknowledgments, forms).
- maintains a network of representatives from previously used and new job boards.
- audits on-boarding for accuracy and electronic I-9 management.
- tracks Human Resources metrics (e.g., time to hire, cost per hire, employee turnover rate).
- monitors job descriptions.
- participants in investigations (e.g., harassment, discrimination, policy violations) as needed.
- supports succession planning (e.g., performance reviews, development plans, coaching plans).
- maintains certification programs.
- supports employee coaching efforts.
- utilizes computer skills, information technology, and MS Office applications effectively; and
- provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
- manages the administration of the Company-wide pre-employment, new-hire, and on-boarding procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
An example of the preferred education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and competencies for this position includes: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience supporting various Human Resources functions, regulatory compliance, benefits programs, as well as company-wide policies and procedures equivalent to that listed above.

SPECIAL NOTES, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Pre-employment: Incumbents must sign the Confidentiality, Non-disclosure, and Non-solicitation Agreement prior to their first day on the job.
License: A valid class C driver’s license, which must be maintained throughout employment in this job classification, is required at the time of appointment. Employees in this job classification may be required to use their own vehicle.
Language: English communication skills are required of this position.
Certifications: While not required, a PHR certification is desirable.
Working Conditions: Work is in an office environment with associated noise, space, and computer screen exposure. Occasional travel to various locations, external sites, and meetings is expected as part of this position.
Background Investigation: Incumbents must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Prior to appointment, candidates may be subject to a background investigation and/or drug test.
Introductory Period: Incumbents appointed to this job classification serve an introductory period of three months.
